Hi, howdy, hello friends! so, some of you may know I've been struggling with a mysterious condition that's been making me go blind for a long time now. No fun! well, turns out that the cause of that is a small mass in my brain. basically a little non-cancerous tumor. this is sorta good news! tumors can be removed after all. But my ongoing treatments, MRIs, and the potential brain surgery needed to remove the mass are super expensive, so I'm opening commissions to help cover those costs.ALT

I’ve never made a commission sheet before so this one is pretty messy, but basically just DM me with any concepts and we can discuss pricing. This is more just to give examples and a general idea of range.

I am ok with doing nsfw, but with the condition that it not be posted publicly and not for or depicting minors. I am also a trained tattoo artist so I can do tattoo concept arts, with the knowledge of what will and will not work as a good body art.

Sooo… yeah! :>

my Venmo is @Cipher-the-Sidhe and these are open for consideration

Just gonna remind every aspiring or beginner writer on here from personal experience to NOT participate in any “Pitch Contests” or even “fan-casting” rn. Hollywood studios do not have ideas w/o writers. Don’t ever let them take yours for free. #WGA #writersstrike pic.twitter.com/i88O5Hmo1S — Nicole Nichelle (@alamanecer) May 2, 2023ALT

THIS^^^

And if you do get paid for your ideas/writing during the strike, that is considered scabbing and you will be barred from the WGA for life, as per this email from the Blacklist:

And, because a lot of people don't understand this bit, this is about you selling your ideas or writing to US-based TV studios or movie studios who are part of the AMPTP. There is no strike against book publishers. Nor audiobooks, graphic novels, or poetry publishing. Or just writing.

Read the above from the WGA.

further evidence toward my thesis that a big part of fromsoft's games is that the devs are all massive trolls and masters of physical comedy

(i wanted to add this elden ring video from twitter to a reblog of another post but i forgot you cant do that so im making a post about it)

the thing that i love most about fromsoft games is that they take place in dying worlds, places that have long since lost their former glory, places that unless you take special steps are doomed to repeat the path to destruction. they can be saved, but you cannot expect to change things by simply following the path forward and beating the final boss; that is not how the corrupt system can be undone.

and they're also deeply funny.

If the point is for the children to learn, then why wouldn’t you give them as many chances as it takes? What is the benefit of telling a child “you failed and that’s the end of it”?

I’m 25, and in my trade school, our tests aren’t judgement, they’re testing to see what we’ve retained, and identify what we’re missing.

If I weld a joint, and the CWI comes up behind me with a radiographic test for it and finds that I just laid hot metal on cold metal or it looks like a sponge inside, you know what’s gonna happen? You think they’re gonna give me a low score and tell me to move on? Fuck no. They’re gonna hand me a grinder and tell me to take it out and put it in right.

When there’s actual work to be done, we don’t leave it at the first attempt if that attempt was shit. We don’t leave a trail of “what’s done is done.” If it takes you four attempts, that’s what it takes, and next time it’ll take fewer because you learned how to do it right after the third time.

School, as it’s set up, with unforgiving deadlines and single attempt high stakes tests are building a shitty work ethic. It says “I tried once, and that’s all you’re getting.” It sets you up to leave a trail of cut losses and barely or unfinished projects as you scramble to get something, anything, turned in before the deadline.

And we wonder now why nothing works at launch.

you also get punished for learning diferently or asking for help too
